White Scars

Khum Karta Mountains — Stormseers of the Path of Heaven

Known to the tribes of Chogoris (Mundus Planus) as the 'Talskar' and to the Great Crusade as the 'Star Hunters' before Jaghatai Khan took command, the V Legion has always stood apart from Imperial politics. While other Legions fought for glory in the eyes of the Warmaster or the High Lords, the White Scars fought along the outer fringes in total isolation, reciting calligraphy, playing 'Go' (Shatranj), and laughing as their jetbikes and Tulwar blades carved enemy armies apart.

Their most pivotal historical secret was the founding of the Space Marine Librarius: alongside Magnus the Red and Sanguinius, Jaghatai Khan and his Chief Stormseer Targutai Yesugei championed the training of Legion psykers, and when the Edict of Nikaea outlawed psychic powers, the White Scars simply ignored the Emperor's decree—preserving the ancient Chogorian 'Weather-Magic' of the Stormseers that views the Warp as a sky-river safe to drink from only in small, disciplined sips.

Sub-Factions, Secret Orders & Classified Relics

• The Karaoghlanlar ('Dark Sons of Death') — The V Legion's terrifying Destroyer cadres who painted their faces with corpse-ash and accepted exile from the Brotherhoods to wield phosphex and rad-weapons.
• The Keshig & Ebon Keshig — Jaghatai Khan's elite Terminator bodyguard and the black-armoured penitents who sought honourable death in battle to atone for the Warrior-Lodge rebellion during the Heresy.
• The Sagyar Mazan ('Those Who Atone') — Over a thousand White Scars who mistakenly sided with Horus's lodges at Second Chondax and were sentenced by the Khan to fight suicidal vanguard actions without reinforcement until only Hibou Khan and a handful survived.
