Appearing unannounced in the halls of the Rock following the return of Primarch Lion El'Jonson in the Era Indomitus, the Inner Circle Companions are among the most enigmatic warriors in the Dark Angels Chapter. They never remove their helmets in the presence of their battle-brothers, never speak a word outside encrypted vox-channels known only to the Supreme Grand Master and the Primarch, and arrive without summons wherever a captain or librarian of the Unforgiven faces mortal peril. Whispers within the Chapter suggest they are the Risen—Fallen Angels personally redeemed by the Lion in the forests of Mirror-Caliban.
