Lore & origins

Even among the immortal demigods of the Adeptus Custodes, Custodian Wardens command hushed reverence. Every Warden is a veteran of at least five centuries of unbroken service within the Imperial Palace or aboard the Black Ships. Upon assuming the ceremonial crimson robes of the Wardens, each warrior swears a terrible, binding oath upon the iron gates of the Sanctum Imperialis to stand as a living bastion whose body will fail before his duty ever does.
